Customer Photo Guide

This guide is meant to help you provide the best photo of your pet for your Petigree Portrait.

After selecting a portrait from one of our galleries it’s up to you to provide us with a photo of your pet. We recommend taking new photos of your pet that best match the person’s head in the portrait you’ve chosen. Please have your chosen portrait nearby so you can reference it while taking a photo. You may already have a photo that matches the original portrait too - wonderful!

Regardless of which route you take, here are some important things to pay attention to when taking or searching for a photo:

Photos should have as little blurring as possible. Make sure to not crop out parts such as the ears.

If your pet is too far away in the photo many details will be lost when used for a portrait.

Photos taken outside are subject to overexposure. Almost half of the face’s detail is gone in this photo.

We recommend that you provide a photo that is taken at eye level with your pet and one that does not use a fisheye lens and/or any color filters - we take care to match your photo to the portrait.

Note: If the pet has passed away we will try our absolute best to work with you in choosing a photo and/or portrait.

Most importantly please check for emails from us in the email address you provide in your order form. We may not only ask for new photos, but may have questions for you regarding your order. We will call you if it takes more than a week to receive a response. Until you’ve approved your order for production via email, expect to receive an email or two.
